Did you know that TODAY is World Homeless Day? Join us in the fight to end homelessness, one family at a time. Here at Family Promise of Gallatin Valley we want to help you visualize what homelessness looks like to us each day:
A pregnant mother.
A toddler learning how to walk at our Day Center.
A family of three, two dogs and a bunny.
A family of four with two children working hard each day at our local elementary schools to learn their ABC’s.
A single father working tirelessly to provide for his family on one income that just doesn’t pay all the bills.
Homelessness to us looks like a family. Families are the fastest growing population of homeless TODAY. Homelessness no longer just looks like the homeless man outside of Wal-Mart, the Vietnam vet in Detroit or the panhandler on the interstate.
Homelessness is our families who are working so hard to regain their independence. At Family Promise we are here to give them a hand-up, not a hand-out.
Join us in ending homelessness, one family at a time.
Join us this Friday, Oct. 14th for our 5th Annual Cardboard Box City 2011 at Bogert Park. Register online today to raise awareness for our homeless children with families!
