Housing & Case Management

The goal of Family Promise is to help homeless families become self-sufficient and find lasting solutions to their unique situations.  Basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter are offered free of charge to guests for up to 90 days. During this time, the Family Promise Family Case Manager works with all able-bodied guests to develop a Family Permanency Plan which will include finding or maintaining employment and creating a savings plan. Each family sets goals based on their individual needs and identifies the barriers to achieving these goals.   Elements of this plan might include:

  • Helping a family to re-establish credit
  • Helping an individual get duplicate copies of driver’s licenses, birth certificates or other documents
  • Helping a family or an individual to navigate myriad of public assistance programs
  • Helping a family fill out forms or understanding the implications of certain life choices
