It has been a wild ride for us at Family Promise for many months with so many homeless families. Now that the holidays are past and things have settled down a bit, it’s nice to take some time and thank all the individuals that have helped in so many ways.
Brent Wilson, our beloved VISTA volunteer, was immensely helpful over the past year. We miss him greatly!! Brent has gone on to assist homeless individuals in Dundalk, Ireland. All of us at Family Promise of Gallatin Valley wish him our best.
First Presbyterian Church has become a host church and is already proving a wonderful resource for Family Promise. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Belgrade Ward) is serving as its partner. Journey Church has joined on and is a great partner for First Baptist. Does your church want to be a host or partner? We can use up to 3 more hosts and any number of partners. All it takes is a kind heart and a willingness to help those in need. When churches open their hearts - and doors – to homeless families they are truly “sanctuaries” in every sense of the word.
Our 694 trained volunteers are awesome! This past weekend a number showed up to help Melissa and her girls move from Family Promise of Gallatin Valley into their very own apartment. Whether it’s hauling furniture, driving the van, cooking meals, playing with children, listening to adults tell about their day or staying overnight – it’s all important service.
God has delegated himself to a million deputies! 694 of them are right here.
