Thanks for New Rainbow Painting!

March 22, 2010 — Many thanks to Bozeman Rainbow Assembly #21 for painting a lovely mural on our play room wall! On Sunday, March 14th these eight girls worked hard – and had a lot of fun – brightening up the Tim and Mary Barnard Family Day Center. This beautiful painting has already become a favorite spot for our little ones.

Family Promise has a new play fort!

September 2, 2010 — Many thanks to Tyler Barton who created an outside play space for Family Promise for his Eagle Scout service project. Tyler worked tirelessly to plan a space that would work in our narrow yard. He secured all the donations, purchased the kit and erected it with his friends. This is a great addition to our yard and will make children happy for many years to come. Thank you so much!

Operation Sandbox

June 24, 2010 — Many, many thanks to the Bozeman Kiwanis for their First Annual Operation Sand Box! Family Promise is happy to be the recipient of a beautiful handmade 5' x 5' wooden sandbox. On the evening of June 23rd, our young ones (and a few of us elders) waited anxiously for the promised delivery and setup. Tracey Jones, and her strong helpers, carried the box in, filled it with sand, and the kids helped by testing it out. Guess what? It’s perfect! The Bozeman Kiwanis built and distributed 101 free sandboxes, much to the delight of children everywhere. Thanks for including Family Promise of Gallatin Valley as a proud recipient!

Little Caesar's Love Kitchen at FPGV

June 1, 2010 — On May 27th, Family Promise had the pleasure of throwing a really large lunch pizza party. Little Caesar’s Love Kitchen from Detroit, Michigan pulled up next to the Tim and Mary Barnard Family Day Center and cooked pizzas to feed 100 people. We invited families, past and present, to come and eat, and take a pizza home for dinner. Local Little Caesar’s employees helped out, and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to Little Caesar’s Pizza!

Notes from the Director

May 2010

Lately, I have had the privilege of playing a small part in helping the communities of Helena and Missoula develop their own Family Promise. Whenever I have the opportunity to talk about Family Promise, I find myself getting more and more excited because this is a program that really works. As a social worker for 30+ years, it is rewarding to be part of something larger that is so positive. [continued]
