“Repeat the sounding joy…”

Merry Chistmas! Happy Hanukkah! The holidays are upon us, trees are decorated and we all wait for the winter wonderland that is usually Bozeman this time of year. At Family Promise, The Tim and Mary Barnard Family Day Center was spectacularly decorated by our good friends, the Rainbow Girls. There are wreaths, twinkly garlands and reminders of merriment throughout the house. Kacie’s office is full of brightly wrapped gifts and mine is full of Christmas trees and decorations.

Every time the doorbell rings we rush to open it to find some wonderful person bringing more gifts. The thrill of hope is there every time I open the post office box and see donation envelopes. Yesterday was the annual Family Promise Holiday Party complete with hot chocolate and sugar cookies, sledding for youngsters (and those young at heart!), lots of catching up with past guests and volunteers, and of course, a visit by Santa. A special thanks goes out to the generous folks at Bath and Body Works who brought sleds for the kids and Lil’ Moe, the famous sledding bulldog. I love this time of year!

Two of our present families just found affordable apartments they can move into before Christmas. What a perfect Christmas present – a home! We wish all families the joy of having a place to call their own. Now what could be better than that?!

May you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
