Cardboard Box City at Night

Cardboard Box City at Night

Yep! You read it correctly folks. This year, Family Promise of Gallatin Valley raised an astonishing record of $20,413.27 from this year’s Cardboard Box City 2011!

A record 130 participants set up their cardboard homes on October 14th in Bogert Park to brave the chilly fall air to raise awareness for homelessness.

The evening began with DJ Missy O’ Malley playing amazing tunes to keep the participants laughing and dancing while setting up their boxes. 75 pizzas arrived to feed the hungry crowd which were generously donated by local businesses. Cryssy’s Characters arrived shortly thereafter to paint faces for little ones and adults alike!
Cardboard Box City at Night
We began our program after everyone had a belly full of pizza. We played a homeless trivia game and scavenger hunt to learn more about homelessness in our community. Our program continued with two

families from our program who stood bravely before the crowd to tell their stories of homelessness and their experience with Family Promise.

After all the boxes were judged by our gracious “Parade of Boxes” panel we held our awards ceremony. All our fabulous prizes were given out to some amazing boxes. This year’s big winner was the Survivor’s Group with the most money raised and an incredible box to boot!

A BIG thank you is in order to all our generous sponsors, donors, participants and Board of Directors for making this fun event possible. The money raised from this event will benefit our homeless children with families. Thanks to our generous Bozeman community who participated in this year’s event we can continue to provide all our services for our families for free!
